The sold-out show was held in La Seine Musicale, a gorgeous venue located by the Seine River with a capacity of 6000 people.
It started at 8pm, and half an hour before the show began, we met with Magic Sound Entertainment, who were the organizers of the show and kindly set us up with media passes and tickets to the concert.
As soon as we were inside and the lights went out, NCT 127 made a powerful entrance with their 2017 hit “Cherry Bomb“. They performed an extended version of the song where each member had their own little dance break before singing or rapping their part.
Soon enough, the energy in the room was at an all time high as the Paris fans cheered and chanted along to the music.
Following Cherry Bomb, the group performed “Come Back“, “Limitless” (my all time favorite!) and “Chain“, before starting the first ment of the concert. After that things got a little more slow when NCT 127 sang “Fly Away with Me” and “Back 2 U“, both sensual R&B tracks.
After that, a VCR was playing where the boys just goofed around having fun with their song “0 Mile” as background music, which also made another appearance on the set list later on. Then, the group got cozy on stage to sing “City 127” and “Angel“.
Up next was “Jet Lag” from their new album, and once they were done with that, all members except for DOYOUNG, JAEHYUN and TAEIL left the stage to belt out their beautiful ballad, “Timeless“.
Once the rest of the members returned, it was time for “No Longer“, another ballad. Here is when they transitioned from slow back to more upbeat songs, because after No Longer, JOHNNY played “Regular to Irregular” on the piano and then the whole group got ready to perform their smash hit “Regular” – the Korean version, which was the song that had the crowd most hyped.
When they finished, they left the stage to change into red and black suits while their staff set up a huge metal rack that kind of resembled a cage. The members romped around the rack while performing “Wake Up” and “Baby Don’t Like It“. During the chorus of Baby Don’t Like It, the members came down from the rack to dance to the choreography or playfully flirt with each other.
After that, JAEHYUN performed a solo dance intro and then TAEYONG and MARK joined him on stage to perform “Mad City“, an upbeat and impressively fast rap track, together.
Following Mad City, JUNGWOO, YUTA and HAECHAN had a dance battle on stage which then led to the song “Good Thing” and then a cute playful performance of their rather romantic single, “Touch“. Before the next ment, they challenged the audience to dance along to “Replay” and wave their light sticks according to the instructions the boys gave.
After another wardrobe change, they returned on stage with “Simon Says“, where the fan chants were particularly loud. They then continued with their debut song “Fire Truck“, before saying their first farewell and leaving the crowd with a VCR of their new song “Highway to Heaven“.
When the group returned for the Encore, it got very energetic as they performed their most recent title track “Superhuman” while wearing shiny outfits to get the fans hyped up one last time. As Superhuman was over, the boys changed into their We Are Superhuman-Shirts and threw signed frisbees and small balls into the crowd during “Summer 127“.
And then last but not least, each member shared their feelings and thoughts about Paris and the concert, of course not without thanking the fans and making lots of promises to return soon. The show closed with one last performance of the song “0 mile“, where the members interacted with the crowd a lot by waving and blowing kisses, before they bowed to the audience and left the stage for good.
All in all, the concert was an amazing experience as it had the perfect mix of slow vocal songs as well as songs you could dance and party to. It really showed that NCT 127 absolutely understand how to master the art of performing and the VCRs and solo/unit dance performances as well as JOHNNY’s piano interlude made the show much more personal and unique.
Special thanks to NCT 127 and SM Entertainment for putting on such a good show and giving the audience an entertaining evening as well as Magic Sound Entertainment who organized the whole thing and made it possible for us to attend!
